Time for the WEST to imPRESS!
We are thrilled to partner with Strong Women of Coffee and some incredible sponsors to host the BC Regional Aeropress Championships in our Barista Lab on September 7th! Spearheaded by award-winning coffee roaster and barista Stacey Lynden, who is one of few women at the fore of Canada's coffee competition scene, the Regionals are a chance for talent in the West to shine and qualify for paid entrance and flights to the Canadian National Aeropress Championship in Toronto at the end of September.
The Regionals will kick off at 2pm on September 7th with a maximum of 27 entrants tasked with impressing a panel of three judges with the aeropress routine and recipe of their choice. All competitors will be given two 340g bags of competition coffee, generously provided by Oughtred Coffee & Tea — one bag for practice ahead of time, which can be picked up at Espressotec (1015 Clark Drive) on August 23rd (shipping options available for entrants located further afield), and a second bag to use at the competition. Entrants should arrive one hour prior to kick-off for check-in and setup. Spectators welcome!
Tickets to compete are $30 per person, which includes registration, two 340g bags of competition coffee, and early access to the venue. Spectator tickets are $5 at the door. Light refreshments and beer provided.
