The Muchagara Factory first opened in 1959, making it the oldest in Kirinyaga County. The coffees brought to Muchagara like this lot are fermented for 16-24 hours, then rinsed and soaked in clean water for an additional 16-18 hours before being sun-dried on raised beds.
