Baratza Sette 270 Conical Burr Coffee Grinder

Baratza's highly anticipated burr grinder, the Sette 270, was designed and perfected in Liechtenstein over a period of 8 years. Its design is revolutionary for several significant reasons: first, the inner burr remains fixed while the outer burr rotates - the opposite of most burr grinders - which makes for faster grinding and simpler drop-out disassembly; second, it uses both stepped and stepless grind adjustment to dial in the perfect setting; third, the curved, rubber-coated arms can be adjusted to hold either portafilter or grounds bin in tandem with a hook that provides additional stability. Even more user-friendly is the digital control panel with three programmable grind time buttons.

Gear Box The gear box features a combination of planetary gear box and a patented crown gear drive system, delivering a quick grind in a matter of seconds.

Burrs The 40mm steel conical burrs will grind coffee at 3.5 to 5.5 grams/second, depending on the setting. These burrs will do a very uniform grind and create a fluffy mound. Manufactured in Liechtenstein, these burrs will stay sharp for many years of grinding and give you the precision and accuracy you need.

Digital Control Panel The front mounted control panel with a backlit LED display is very user friendly. Three programmable buttons allow for grind times within 0.1 second. Simply press the start button and the Sette automatically delivers precise dosing.

Grind Adjustment The Sette has a macro adjust of 30 steps ranging from espresso to french press. A step-less micro adjust with 9 indicators allows the user to accurately dial in a perfect grind. The macro/micro mechanism is directly connected to the cone burr resulting in immediate and true grind adjustment. The adjustments are made to the lower burr so the upper burr spins while the lower burr remains still.

Convertible Device Holder The built-in convertible holder allow users to grind directly into a portafilter, the grounds bin, or a brewing device of their choice (Hario, Aeropress, Able Kone). The Sette's grounds bin is made from an anti-static plastic, with a spout for easy pouring into a preferred brewing device or for later use. The portaholder can accommodate portafilters of any size and includes an integrated hook for hands-free operation.

Hopper The Sette's hopper holds approximately 300 to 400g of coffee beans. The bean shutoff feature in the collar allow users to change beans without any mess or fuss.

Cleaning The cone burr is easily removable without the use of tools, making cleaning the grinder very easy.
